Abdullah Alsaidi (August 2010)

Where: Bonn 2010: 13th AWG KP & 11th AWG LCA

Abdullah Al Saidi, UN Ambassador for Yemen and Chair of the G77 talks to Climate-Change.tv at the latest climate talks. He discusses the unfortunate "toilet / flag" incident, with regards to Oxfam / WWF and Saudia Arabia, and expresses the wish for everyone to move on. He notes that there will not be a request for further measures. He thinks civil society has a role to play and that activists still have a "role within reason". On the negotiations, he says that we now have a common understanding and that there are now four groups mandated to discuss individual areas - such as finance and mitigation. He hopes that a substantial part of the text is resolved this week.
