Dinesh Devkota (August 2010)

Where: Bonn 2010: 13th AWG KP & 11th AWG LCA

Dinesh Devkota, head of the Nepalese delegation, talks about their priorities for the negotiations as their country is the "tower of water". He expresses the desperate need for financing, and the requirement for commitment from developing countries. He explains the level of their vulnerability in areas such as rain-dependent farming, deforestation and water protection. He is particularly concerned over knowledge management, technology transfer and finance. He says financing should be according to local need.  You may also like to see Nepalese Prime Minister, Madhav Kumar, speaking from Copenhagen.
