George Papandreou (December 2009)

Where: Copenhagen: COP15 UN Climate Change Conference 2009

The Greek Prime Minister, George Papandreou, tells Climate-Change.tv of his reaction to US President Barack Obama’s speech, noting the need for aligned, binding targets. He recognises the internal political difficulties the US is facing, but urges Obama to remember this is a “world problem, and that we really need to move ahead”, to achieve a better economy, more jobs and less dependence on oil. Also see Mohammed Salim Al Sabban, Head of the Saudi Arabian delegation, speaking from Bonn in August 2009
