Kumi Naidoo (December 2009)

Where: Copenhagen: COP15 UN Climate Change Conference 2009

Kumi Naidoo, International Executive Director of Greenpeace, expresses his dismay at the NGO lockout at Copenhagen. He accuses the UN of raising hopes, says NGOs do not pose a security threat “by any stretch of the imagination”, and reminds the UN that they depend on civil society for support and funding. He finishes by saying “it’s not over until the fat lady sings”. Also see Tony Juniper, former director of Friends of the Earth, and Thom Yorke of Radiohead, speaking from Copenhagen
