Where: Bonn 2010: 31st SBSTA & SBI; 12th AWG KP & 10th AWG LCA

Leela Padmini Batuwitage, head of the Sri Lankan delegation, together with W Sumathipala, discusses the responsibilities of the Annex I  parties and the revival of the Kyoto Protocol. They are concerned about action on mitigation targets - prevention is better than cure. They say that the pledges are "grossly inadequate" according to the science. As an agricultural country, Sri Lanka is working on developing a green economy. They touch on their national action plan with its ten areas, in particular the encouragement of choice and raising of awareness and finish on discussing the effects of climate change in their country.
