Lorena Aguilar Senior Global Gender Advisor at IUCN introduces Women in REDD+, an initiative launched in Cancun comprising IUCN, Wocan and the Women’s Environment and Development Organization (WEDO). The overall objectives of the Initiative are to: a. Ensure that global and national REDD+ efforts are gender responsive; b. Leverage women’s leadership to mitigate the effects of climate change; c. Align with sustainable development goals; and d. Alleviate poverty.
