In an effort to mitigate the long-term effects of climate change, the government of Albania and The Biocarbon Fund of The World Bank is reducing emissions that are generated by fossil fuels. As part of the Natural Resources Development Project, communities are planting trees and supporting a natural regeneration of forests and controlling animal grazing.
