Victoria Tauli-Corpuz (August 2010)

Where: Bonn 2010: 13th AWG KP & 11th AWG LCA

Victoria Tauli-Corpuz from the Philippines, and representing indigenous people, talks about their rights within the text, and making sure they are maintained and get adopted. They would like to see insertions within finance and technology transfer - looking at capitalising on existing traditional knowledge. She discusses finance and how that can be used in forest management, for example, and notes that in application it can cause more harm than good. Over technology transfer, she considers licensing of technology, intellectual property rights and government subsidies.
