Doaa Abdel-Motaal (December 2009)

Where: Copenhagen: COP15 UN Climate Change Conference 2009

Doaa Abdel-Motaal, from the World Trade Organization, explains how they believe in and support a global environmental accord, with differentiated responsibilities,  on climate change. She says that this would counteract concerns about competitiveness. She says that their rules on financial services could supply transparency, stability and predictability to carbon trading.  They could also open markets on climate-friendly technology. She says that trade questions should come after a global agreement.
