Mikael Rattenborg, Director of Operations at EUMETSAT, explains the shift and rise in using satellites for meteorological purposes. He says their 30 years of data is the backbone of the global observing systems, and enables scientists to make solid, credible projections to enable future adaptation and monitor mitigation.
