Jeroen van Bruggen, from SNV Netherlands Development Organisation, explains how CDM has been unable to reduce the dependence of LDC households on traditional biomass resources for energy supply.  Lessons learnt in Asia and Africa show how CDM and other markets can promote large up-scaling of appropriate options.
