Rio+20: GE building partnerships for sustainable development

Rio+20 (22/06/2012) – Jasmin Eymery, GE Sustainable Development Manager talks about the needs of GE to get involved in sustainable development issues, both as a global company and one which works in Brazil.

Eymery says globally, the company is working to deal with some of the biggest challenges facing society including providing energy and clean water, health care and transport solution – all issues discussed at Rio+20.

More locally the company has a huge presence in Brazil – where natural resources and energy because of inefficiencies of the production and distribution problems.

Eymery said the problems still facing new technologies to help with sustainable development is the lack of suitable partnership, especially with governments and the need for stronger regulations and more security for innovators.
