CBD COP11: Turning indigenous knowledge against climate change

CBD COP11 (09/10/12) – Ghasiram Panda, Regional Centre for Development Cooperation, says India’s coastal regions are vulnerable to the effects of climate change.

His organisation is working with tribal groups to harness their unique knowledge so that disaster risk reduction and long term resilience can be improved. The route to achieving this is through maintaining healthy biodiversity, particularly in the region’s forests.
