Ambassador André Corrêa do Lago interview: Rio Conventions Pavilion, CBD COP11, 10/10/2012 – The Ambassador, Director of the Department of Environment and Special Affairs, Brazil, says that while the funding needed to tackle biodiversity loss is on a smaller scale than other environmental challenges, it can be harder to acquire. With projects typically delivering local benefits, it is harder to attract financing from developed nations, into poorer countries.
He also calls Rio+20 a success story, stressing that it was a sustainable development summit, not purely an environmental meeting.
