COP20 (05/12/14) – Jeff Swartz updates RTCC on the current status of negotiations on market mechanisms and markets at COP 20. He talks about the recent failure of states to reach consensus on the future of existing market mechanisms and gives his thoughts on the role that markets and market mechanisms could play in the 2015 agreement. He also discusses the issue of ideological objections to carbon markets and the role of market mechanisms in a world of bottom-up pledges.
