Peter explains the role climate insurance has to play in helping people in developing countries affected most by extreme weather events related to climate change. He believes climate insurance can be part of the adaptation solution. Climate insurance is limited in that it can’t insure slow onset risks that are predictable such as sea level rise and desertification. Peter is excited by the recent G7 project to bring 400 million people basic insurance in the next 5 years against extreme weather events. He is optimistic that this will be a big success. At COP21 Peter wants to see strong commitments to the green climate fund and insurance solutions be recognised as part of adaptation plans
