Argentina’s  Director of Soil Conservation and the Fight Against Desertification in the Secretariat on the Environment and Sustainable Development, Octavio Pérez Pardo, gives his assessment of the desertification process and explains its links to climate change. He also weighs in on economic problems and explains the difficulties of finding the political will to implement changes agreed to at multilateral conferences, and he explains some of the land-related domestic issues in his country.
