Rio+20: Promoting Agenda 21 in the mountains

Rio+20 (14/06/2012) – Eric Nanchen, Foundation pour le developpement durable des régions de montagne talks to Pavilion TV about the importance to lobbying on behalf of mountain communities and make sure their voices are heard.

He explains how his regions Agenda 21, which has been running since 2008, has helped to promote sustainable development projects on the ground, working with local authorities to promote sustainability and to address the key issues affecting mountain communities – food, energy and water.

He hopes his work in Switzerland can also be translated to communities across the world, in regions such as the Andes and the Himalayas.
