Rio+20: Sustainability is a sales argument, says BMW

Rio+20 (14/06/2012) – Glenn Schmidt, BMW Group talks about the aims of the company to increase their vehicles efficiency while still making sure their cars are sporty and what customers expect.

For BMW sustainability has become a sales argument and as more sustainable technologies are introduced the more customers ask the company to go further on the sustainable development pathway.

Schmidt says BMW works on a broad approach to sustainability that includes greater efficiency in the traditional internal combustion engine, as well as working on hybrids and electric vehicles.
