Rio+20: Creating a global forum for oceans research

Rio+20 (16/06/2012) –Carl Nettleton from Open Oceans Global talks to Pavilion TV about his work and aims to build a platform that would aggregate and bring together the world’s oceans data and creatively present it to the public in a way that policy makers and the world’s media can understand what scientists do and do not know about the oceans.

He says that there is currently no place where this can happen and that there needs to be an international community from all sector of the oceans which gathers together and supports this aims in order to make the best possible decisions for the future of the oceans – both for the planet and for the economy.
