Rio+20: Three requirements for sustainable transport

Rio+20 (17/06/2012) – Femi Jemirin, Nigerian Institute of Transport Technology talks to Pavilion TV about the work that is being done by the Nigerian government to promote sustainable transport.

He explains the three conditions which he says must be met for a transport systems to be completely sustainable – renewable energy source use should not exceed the rate at which they are produced, non-renewable energy use should not exceed the rate of development into alternative fuels and the rate of emissions should not exceed the capacity of the environment.

He explains some of the ways Nigeria are trying to meet these three conditions.
