Rio+20: Mozambique on pathway to green economy

Rio+20 (21/06/2012) – Jim Leape, Executive Director, WWF talks about the announcement by the government of Mozambique on their green economy pathway. He says the country is at an interesting point in their history having discovered vast reserves of natural gas and they had to decide whether that would lead to a resource curse or a blessing and say he believes this is a sign it will be the latter and the country is interested in creating a lasting foundation of development.

He says it is exciting in the international context to see a country get on and make the changes needed and says they have shown a lot of political courage.
