Marcelo Ebrard

Marcelo Ebrard, Mayor of Mexico City, considers the progress of the¬† Mexico City Pact, also known as the Global Cities Covenant on Climate. This voluntary commitment to report emissions to the carbonn City Climate¬† Registry started out as a leading-by-example initiative to show national governments that it is possible to monitor, verify and reduce emissions. Marcelo Ebrard also discusses the issue of security explaining how this isn’t a problem for Mexico City, but how the evolution of green towns may help with this. He outlines the steps they have taken in terms of adaptation and mitigation.
