CBD COP11: Hard politics is needed to solve environment crises

Rio Conventions Pavilion TV, CBD COP11 (12/10/2012) – Dr Helga Fink, Project Director for Climate Change Adaptation in the North Eastern Region at GIZ, discusses the work her organisation undertakes on climate change adaptation and gives her opinion on approaches to adaptation.

Fink explains that GIZ is running an Indo-German project to assist communities in adapting to climate change

Fink says that COP11 is a great opportunity to bring together and start a dialogue between those working on climate change and those working on biodiversity.

Fink also argues that politics is often too theoretical in its approach, removing the emotional element that allows people to relate to it and removing a sense of urgency.
