COP18: Living in disaster prone Bangladesh

COP18 (04/12/12) – M.A Halim, Director of Risk Management Department at the Bangladesh Red Crescent Society talks about how Bangladesh is a disaster prone country.

He explains that they experience flooding, cyclones and other related impacts such as landlsides and fires. He warns that the frequency of these events is increasing because of climate change.

He also says that in some places the rains do not come and says this is impacting the region’s traditional crops. He says they are working with communities to try and build awareness of these issues and help to mitigate these impacts.
