Kunihiko “Kuni” Shimada

Kunihiko Shimada, the principal international policy coordinator with the Global Environment Bureau with Japan’s Ministry of the Environment, speaks with Climate-Change.tv about Japan’s priorities in the climate change process, including the country’s controversial mid-term domestic emissions reduction target. He also discusses the notion of a “zero emission economy”, and delves into what he believes should happen in terms of expanding emissions reduction obligations for developing countries and his views on the impact of climate change on small island states. Also see Kuni Shimada speaking from Copenhagen, Barcelona in 2009, and Bonn in June 2009.
