COP20 (06/12/14) – Huichen Chien talks about the unique place of Taiwan in the climate talks given its political status as a non-UN member state. She discusses her country’s current efforts to participate in UNFCCC mechanisms and become an observer state to the UNFCCC. She goes on to detail how Taiwan can play its part in tackling climate change outside the UNFCC, through both domestic action and international partnerships, particularly with small island states.
