COP20 (08/12/14) – Suarez tells RTCC that the humanitarian sector have noticed a greater workload, and more frequent and extreme disasters due to climate change. The humanitarian sector anticipate that their workload is likely to increase. The Red Cross believe people need to be given the choice to escape poverty and become more resilient in ways that are carbon neutral. They have been working with their partners ODI, CDKN and IIED on a campaign which was presented at the Development and Climate Change Days. The campaign calls for zero emissions and zero poverty within a generation.
