Warren Smith, Caribbean Development Bank

The Caribbean Development Bank is a development finance institution that helps Caribbean countries mitigate and adapt to climate change. They focus on sustainable energy projects and climate adaptation projects such as sea defences. Smith explains that Caribbean culture and tourism is being threatened by climate change and would like to see global temperatures not exceed 1.5 degrees. Smith then introduces the Caribbean Development Bank’s most exciting initiative, a geothermal energy project in the eastern islands that has multiples benefits of being clean energy, abundant and result in energy security for these countries
