Huertel tells Climate Home that the newly elected Canadian federal government is eager to work with provinces and territories to fight climate change in a positive manner. He highlights that in Canada that provinces have taken leadership in the fight against climate change, particularly Quebec and Ontario. He feels it is important to showcase at COP21 the concrete work being undertaken by regions, cities and infra national governments in fighting climate change and hopes this will be recognised. Finally he explains that there is new consciousness in Canada amongst the provinces and that they are at end of the hydrocarbon era and at the beginning of a new era of renewable energy
