IPIECA is a trade association for the oil and gas industry. They represent 60% of all oil and gas production and their aim is to improve the environmental performance of oil and gas. IPIECA is at COP21 as an official observer, they provide technical info on behalf of the industry talking to key stakeholders. IPIECA is promoting the Paris Puzzle, a series of factsheets that show how industry can reduce emissions and how the industry is supporting a clear and effective Paris agreement. Liz explains that IPIECA works collaboratively with the World Bank and Clean Air Coalition to reduce gas flaring and methane emissions. Finally, Liz tells Climate Home that IPIECA supports market mechanisms to drive innovation in technology.
