Jennifer Haverkamp from the Environmental Defense Fund speaks about developments in the US indicating that climate change issues are being taken more seriously in that country, including the creation of a cap-and-trade system in California that could include three other US states and also states in Brazil, and she talks about big companies like Apple Computer, Nike, Exxon, and PG&E that have pulled away from the US Chamber of Commerce for its opposition to climate change. But she says that the big question remains when – she stressed that she did not say “whether” – the US passes domestic climate change legislation, and she handicaps that process as well.
