CEO of CropLife International, Howard Minigh, discusses the interlinked challenges of food insecurity and climate change. He explains how plant science can help, touching on, amongst other issues, yield increase, increase of productivity, and using less land. He talks about how continued innovation in these areas is fundamental to tackling climate change. He notes agriculture is a cross-cutting issue, and needs to be integrated more fully – owing to its potential for helping with adaptation and mitigation. He refers to the fact that the Copenhagen Accord did not mention agriculture, but that many countries have outlined it in their plans. He finishes on discussing the priorities for Faming First and CropLife in tackling this.
