Rio+20: We should face the future together, say Nordic Council

Rio+20 (13/06/2012) – Michael Funch, Senior Advisor of the Nordic Council of Ministers tells the studio that the council – made up of Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, Sweden, Greenland the Faroe Islands, Greenland and Åland – hope to create a dialogue at Rio about the future we want.

He explains how the Nordic Countries believe a holistic approach based on co-operation and discussions is the only way forward and that we should face the future together.

The main activities of the Nordic Council at Rio will focus on equal rights – without which there cannot be sustainability – giving nature a values and the creating economics that consider ecosystems and eco labeling and governments and the public sectors use of sustainable procurement.
