Rio+20 (22/06/2012) – Patrick Nicmecks, African Model Forest Network explains the model forest aims to bring all of the stakeholders from across all sectors with an interest in forestry to the table of negotiations. He says this could include loggers, conservationists, local communities, hunters, miners etc.

The aim of this is that every decision made about the forest will consider the view point of all of these stakeholders. He says people should be put at the centre of sustainable management and should be given an equal voice to economic interests.
