COP18 (26/11/12) – Kitty Ehn from Nature Youth Sweden comes to the Climate Change Studio to call on the Swedish delegation to live up to their reputation as a green country. She says the Swedish youth are trying to create momentum and call on the country to increase their ambition in Doha.
She said a gap has grown between the reputation of the country and what it is doing in practice, and that the Sweden increased its emissions in the last year.
She also says the country has fallen 14 places to 24th when it comes to environment practices in the EU and to 45th when it comes to international action. She says as a young person from Sweden she is embarrassed by the country’s position on the global stage.
