COP18: Women’s voices must be heard in climate forums

COP18 (27/11/12) – Lani Eugenia, General Secretary at Puantani, an Indonesian Women’s Organisation talks about the impacts of climate change on farming in Indonesia and how it disproportionately affects women.

She says the role of women in agriculture is prominent and they are impacted greatly by changes in weather patterns.

She says it is important to raise the awareness of the role of women and to bring women together to unite in groups. She says then you must enhance their capacity and make sure they are involved in governance decisions at all levels, from the village to nationally to internationally.
