COP18: COP18 (29/11/12) – Chief Adam Tempuni, explains how increased variability of weather patterns and the impact of climate change is making it hard for fairtrade Cashew farmers in Ghana to make a decent livelihood.

He says while the impact of climate change has been visible for some time, it is now becoming severe.

In addition, increasing storminess is damaging infrastructure, eroding soils and undoing the investment that farmers have put into their local communities.

This has resulted in producers being unable to send their children to school and families breaking up due to financial difficulties.

He calls for more financial and technological support to help farmers make their crops climate resilient.
