Blanca Jimenez-Cisneros, Director, Division of Water Sciences, UNESCO talks about the danger climate change poses to world heritage sites.
She says extreme weather events, such as excessive rain, are damaging cultural heritage sites and neighbouring communities as well.
She says protecting cultural heritage sites should be as much of a priority as all of the other topics under discussion in climate change discussions, such as agriculture, and she believes UNESCO is in a good position to offer a broad perspective to decision-makers.
