Florence Tangban, Green Manager, Carbon Credit Network presents the latest green technology used to power cook stoves.
The gel, made from waste such as sawdust, is used for cooking and is a safe and clean alternative to conventional fuels used to power cook stoves.
Tangban explains that the gel, which produces heat, is beneficial to the environment as it does not produce smoke and therefore does not emit emissions.
It is also advantageous, she says, as it does not cause health-related issues, in particular respiratory problems, which Tangban says women across Africa often suffer from as a result of using firewood to power their cook stoves.
