COP20 (04/12/14) – Lonsway explains that the African Development Bank Group acts as an implementing agency for climate investment funds and aims to promote enabling environments for climate finance in Africa. Currently the Group have invested €5 million into the Africa Climate Change Fund to help countries get climate ready. They hope to work with the Green Climate Fund to secure finance for Africa, and as they have controls and mechanisms in place are confident they will qualify for fast track accreditation. Lonsway talks about Morocco’s new solar project and it’s plans to diversify its energy portfolio by 2020.
