Vikram explains that the World Bank Group’s biggest accomplishment so far has been driving momentum behind carbon pricing. With the launch of the Carbon Pricing Leadership Coalition on Monday Vikram highlights the need to follow up this surge in political momentum with action. The World Bank launched a 500 million dollar Transformative Carbon Asset Facility, which helps countries implement carbon-pricing, work out the building blocks needed and how to measure the impacts and results. Finally, Vikram comments on the tremendous momentum and energy from the business, banking and investment and private sector around this year’s COP in relation to carbon pricing and feels there is a real sense of rallying around the opportunity. He hopes that whatever comes out of Paris will become the basis for economic transformation and provide a framework for carbon pricing and markets
