Victor Fodeke

Head of Nigeria’s climate change delegation, Victor Fodeke, explains why the process needs to speed up and that we need greater emissions cut. He emphasises that Africa will be the worst hit by climate change effects and says “We get what we negotiate, not what we deserve”. He notes that the bulk of the responsibility lies with developed countries. He says Africa expects more commitment on funding, while appreciating what is currently offered. He finishes on expressing his concern that a verbal agreement is not worth the paper it is printed on.
