Rio+20 (19/06/12): Glyn Davies Director of Programmes WWF UK speaks to Pavilion TV about the functions WWF has put on at this year’s summit and which events he is most interested in. Davies also talks about how sustainable living can benefit countries economically.
Davies speaks of how the WWF is using side events to engage and teach people about how they work with their partners to maintain sustainability. He talks of a recent function where Acre State in Brazil and Sabah State in Malaysia have shown how they keep their forest standing. They hope to encourage private sector investment. Davies believes the most important way for sustainable economic growth is balance, and not looking at action that will get maximum profit short term, projects need to be considered in the long term. Davies also speaks of the need for Political Leaders to get involved to make this change happen in a larger scale.
