COP18: Those ignoring renewables will become obselete

COP18 (06/12/12) – Professor Tanay Sidki Uyar, president, Eurosolar Turkey, tells RTCC about the importance of putting renewable energy at the heart of planning for businesses and governments alike.

Prof. Uyar praises Siemens for pulling out of nuclear engineering to focus on renewables calling these kind of shifts “smart investments”.

“The future should be planned with the technologies of the future in mind,” says Uyar. “If companies continue to invest in the current energy system, they will be obsolete.”

He also says that renewable energy is a more equitable and open form of energy and argues that unlike fossil fuels, there will not be conflicts over ownership.
