Rio+20 (20/06/2012) – Wim van Driel, Programme Manager at Delta Alliance talks about the problems facing deltas due to climate change.

Sat just above or sometimes even below sea-level rise, deltas are particularly vulnerable to see level rise – for example the Mekong Delta in Vietnam will be 50% flooded with just 1m above sea level without adaptation.

Deltas also face problems from the changes in the hydrology in the river basins where more or less rainfall will change the dynamics of the delta.
