COP18 (01/12/12) – Marta Szigeti Bonifert, Executive Director at the Regional Environmental Center talks about the history of her organisation and how they have developed over the last 20 years.

She says that their mission is to build a better future. She talks of how they were traditionally working with civil society to give them more strength and to help them with their activities on the ground.

Now she says they work very closely with the business community who want to get involved in positive projects. She says over the past 20 years, the business community has become of the biggest contributors to the environmental agenda and have taken the lead on action on the ground.

She talks about the organisation’s Green Pack which aims to educated children from 8-14 years on the environment. She believes young people will be growing up with the very different perception of the world and says the world will be a very different place in 10 years time.
