COP19 (22/11/13) -Timothy Damon, SustainUS (U.S. Youth for Sustainable Development) talks about inter-generational equity.
He is here both to be a a youth delegate for SustainUS and work with other Youth NGO’s (YOUNGO) on the principle of inter-generational equity. Their aim is to see this principle , a convention principle, included in the new agreement and also have it operational within the text.
He explains inter-generational equity in its broadest terms by saying it is to place the equivalent value on present generations and future generations. He says that this principle is compatible with sustainability.
He speaks at some length about economic policies and how currently major discounts are being placed on future generations.
