GEF 5: Jorge Gustavo Caicedo, CEO, Human Heritage, Mexico

Jorge Gustavo Caicedo talks about how climate change is threatening the cultural heritage of indigenous or native communities in Mexico and across the world.

He says cultural heritage is based on a dialogue that communities have established with the environment, from which, numerous expressions that we identify as their culture have developed, such as dance, music and even language.

Caicedo says climate change and desertification threatens the cultural heritage of many indigenous or native communities who will have to adapt to the impacts of a changing climate.
