“COP20 (06/12/14) – Keith Alverson discusses the UNEP’s new Adaptation Gap Report. The work takes a preliminary look at the gap between the current state of adaptation and where we need to be to meet the challenges of the climate crisis. The report seeks to develop a framework with which we can explore setting adaptation goals and assessing adaptation strategies. It builds on the work of UNEP’s Emissions Gap Reports that explore the discrepancy between states’ current emissions reduction efforts and what is required to keep the world bellow 2 degrees of warming.
Kevin also talks about the role of adaptation in the 2015 deal and discusses whether the climate negotiations are ultimately making any progress. “
